The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet,
and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. Habakkuk 3:19
thirsting after a deeper relationship with God. An outreach to those wishing to come
up higher from the beggarly elements of the world to the mountaintops where the
clear refreshing streams flow. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
of the wonderful baptism of the Holy Ghost, the strength to come out of
the systems of men, but our hearts pant to go on unto perfection!
Hebrews 6:1,2, "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrines of Christ,
let us go on unto perfection"! Paul lists these wonderful principles in
these first two verses-----then he invites us not to neglect these
foundational principles, but to go on unto---PERFECTION, to come up
HIGHER in our walk with God.
So many today can't get beyond the foundational principles, yet their
heart yearns for the deeper things of God, real intimate fellowship and the
faith to walk in obedience!
We hope these few pages to come will help all of us to reach the high
places. As we walk with God, we come to realize THAT THE BAPTISM OF
THE HOLY GHOST, is not the be all and end all. The walk does not end
with the Holy Ghost, but rather just begins. How exciting to know this is
what Jesus meant when He said, When He comes He will take of mine
and show it to you.
Yes, God wants to show us more than we presently have...what is God
after, what is God's purpose, you and I going through all the things we go
through...is it not to perfect and mature us. Is it not to grow us up in
God? If we run from these dealings we can not grow and mature. We do
not find the true peace.
The more we see of Jesus, the closer we get to Him, we hunger and thirst
after more of Him. Why is this? Because we come to love Him more and
more everyday recognizing the terrible price He paid for our salvation!
Therefore, there is nothing He can ask or show us that we wouldn't do.
Our heart's desire is to honor Him with obedience.
This is coming up higher.
The scripture tells us we are seated in heavenly places...so this truly is a
great invitation, but also a challenge to leave the call of the world...the
betrayal of compromise and the flesh and its unwillingnesses to truly
follow the will "OF JESUS CHRIST THE LORD"!
Thank God we have been encouraged through His Holy Spirit and the
grace of God to come as far as we have come, BUT we feel that call to go on
to THE HIGHER PLACES. Thus saith the high and lofty one who
inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place,
with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of
the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15
True revival comes from TRUE HUMILITY AND REPENTANCE. A contrite
attitude and the willingness to be at peace with all men as much as lieth
within us. This is why we need the fruit of the spirit as well as the gifts of
the spirit. The high places is spiritually coming into a balance.
We so much want God to come down and visit us...and we praise God for
the times this happens...BUT He desires us to come up higher to
THE HIGH PLACES
This can be accomplished by walking with a humble attitude, listening,
being correctable, and with a repentant heart.
Yes, he wants us to get the victory and be an overcomer.
The good Lord loves us so much and His desire is that we truly may find
the deep desires and longings of our heart fulfilled. This also is
accomplished by coming out and up and meeting Him in the High and
Lofty place, of course this is not a designated physical place, but the
attitudes of the heart when it cries; we are not.....I am not.....of this world!
Ye are not of this World
You and I need to speak, meditate, cultivate, this attitude of the heart.
The martyrs both male and female went singing to the fires of Oxford and
the gallos of Edinburgh. They had this attitude of heart, to them they
were going home...going on to be with Jesus, they were not of this world.
As the scripture they were pilgrims and strangers just passing through.
They had overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil.
Their walk had taken them on up to the high places.
They overcame by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their
testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Rev. 12:11
They had reached the high places in God by denying self, carrying their
cross, and following Jesus. Some sang in their time of death.
Surely, they had gotten the victory, surely they had overcome, and surely
they leave an example and testimony to you and I that by the grace of God
and the power of the HOLY GHOST, we can honor our God with our life.
FOR WHAT IS OUR LIFE IF IT IS NOT
LIVED OUT FOR GOD?
